Hamilton Comp and Fun Fly April 07

Heck it's a month ago we had that fantastic Funfly ?

What an awesome weekend, great turnout of pilots from all over the North Island, perfect weather (zero wind) great BBQ food and lots and lots of flying.

And with many sponsors turning up (some with tons of stock) there were plenty of prizes dished out.

Little carnage all weekend, which was surprising given the amount of flying so the booby prize became a difficult prize to hand out (it was an RC Car)

Also held was the official 3D event run by the NZMAA Helicopter Interest group. This was a great success seeing many pilots give it a go. As each round is held (Last was at the Nats at Xmas) the rules are slowly being adjusted to adjust the K Factors etc for the various maneuvers for each class of flier. Each time we have the 3D event it just gets better and better.

Comments From: Graeme Sonntag (Chief Judge)

The results of the 3D competition held in Hamilton are finally done,

I must say at this point that the pilots that put in the effort workout out the k factor maneuvers before the competition started
certainly paid off from my observations. In the odd case the better flight did not necessarily win when the K-Factors were taken into account.

So guys a bit of homework before you turn up really pays off.
