Hamilton Comp and Fun Fly July 06

The Weather in Hamilton was perfect all weekend, many pilots were still on the field Well after 5pm both days. Regretfully there were not enough pilots there wanting to compete formerly so the weekend was turned into a great funfly.

Despite the cancellation of the competitions 20 pilots attended and everyone had a very relaxing time in the sun (no wind either) on what can only be argued as one of the best flying sites in the North Island.

On Sunday Ian Mander of Cambridge brought over his big model Turbine JetCat and its did a very impressive display in the hands of Grant Clark – I just love the noise and smell of those things.

Naturally there were many TRex’s at the event (is there anyone who doesn’t own one ?) and RCHeli’s of Hamilton (importer of TRex) kindly put up some prizes for a TRex drag race. Neil Parkinson won with myself coming second (it must have been close wasn’t it Neil P ?)

Lunch on Saturday was enough Pizza to feed and Army with a BBQ lunch on Sunday. I just love relaxed funflys like this when everything comes together and every one goes home with a big grin, I don’t think we had any serious crashes that weekend.

Thanks to the Hamilton Club and Heli Technical committee for arranging the Event.
