Well what can I say ....... this was an awesome weekend and all thanks go to
Jason for organising it. The weather on Saturday was perfect which is not
what could be said for the rest of the country. Lots of flying was done by
all. We had flyers from as far afield as Wellington, so that was great to
see. A memorable part of the day was the drag racing dispite being the
first to loose :).
Saturday night saw a few have a nice meal at the Albany Sports Club and then re
went to the indoor fly in. Mind you it was more of a drive in with Kevin's
motorbike being a smash in more ways than one. I am sure that jump could
have been higher.
There was one small mid air between a MSR and a mustang. Both hit the
floor and both flew afterwards. After the indoor I retired to my tent on
the field. I had a comfortable night but was woken early with a couple of
pukekos having a domenstic. Still the day looked like it was going to not
bad.
G2 was the first to turn up and I flew my Airwolf for the first time. Man
that is a nice heli in the air. The weather was a starting to breakup but
after lunck but quite a bit of flying was done anyway.
Jason and Kevin did the draw for a Knight 3d heli and this was won by Logan
Douglas.
If you didn't come to this event you missed a great weekend. I would
reccomend that you make an effort to get to the Hamilton smack down as you will
see some awesome flying and a couple of Aussies but don't let that put you off.
