I traveled down Friday in convoy with Wayne and Julie since we were staying
in the same motel. Arriving in New Plymouth in time to visit
a certain RCBandit store where we proceded to fly helis (Small
ones) and to make a couple of plank purchases. Quite a few
people arrived to play and chat and eat pizza. After putting
together Waynes new plank we then did mine and were ready
for Saturday.
Saturday dawned fine and clear and not a cload in the sky
and NO wind. It was an awesome days flying. A first for me
as I only had electric helis to fly. Proof of the day can
been seens in Georges photo of the mountain.
The day was a mixture of helis and planks with lots of flying
being done by all. The highlite of the day was Colins Lama
getting off the ground for the first time with Brent and the
helm. The odd competition was held through out the day and
the a scale comp was held on the Sunday. George came first
and second (With two helis).
The only crash for the weekend was a couple of planks. One
of them was mine as I tried to get the hang of launching.
A little cyno5 fixed the nose.
Saturday night saw an indoor fly in with lots of helis from
the small picco Z to the trex 450's and this really ugly heli.
Planks were also in abundance. Lots of fun.
Thanks Brett for putting on an awesome weekend and look forward
to next year.
Cheers
Neil
