| Well Saturday dawned (Which was lucky really)
to be fine but it did look a bit threatening as I headed for
Taupo for our normal master series and the new Free style
Competition
Arriving at Taupo and I found some flyers from Wellington
there and already flying.with conditions far better than expected
After an hour or so those's that were turning up had arrived.
It was a little disappointing to find that we did not have
enough to run the F3C competition after marking out a perfect
square with Alton
However the flyers were keen to have the Free Style Competition
that we had setup so after outlining the rules we got into
the first of three rounds. with 5 participants competing
The format turned out more successful than we thought It
would and seems to be the way to go In the future with small
modifications
While the odd machine had problems the results were very close.
First was Glen Evans - 2900
Second was Alton Rodgers - 2850
Third was Wayne Ratcliffe - 2450
It was unfortunate to see Graeme crash his Vigor and Dean
had a close call also. So close in fact that the tail was
heard touching the ground.
It was a great competition and all the pilots are ready for
the next round
Thanks to all those who attended and I am sure that there
will be lots more practice happening to perfect the maneuvers
and to also get the compulsory moves looking a bit smoother.they
played a large part In the final results
Have fun
