The New Zealand Model Aeronautical Association (NZMAA) is a non-profit body dedicated to the promotion and protection of aeromodelling in New Zealand. The NZMAA has been an incorporated society since 1948 and is affiliated to the FAI.

The Goals of the NZMAA are to :

* Foster close association with the RNZAC, FAI and overseas modelling bodies
* Maintain liaison with Government departments and local authorities
* Pursue an active public relations policy
* Set a national safety code
* Meet the needs of the membership
* Address environmental issues, especially noise problems and the safe operation of models
* Promote International, National and regional competitions
* Foster relationships with National bodies of similar interest groups

The NZMAA is governed by a nationally elected Council of Management with a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Competition Manager, and Area Councilor's who liaise with clubs in their area and represent their views at Council meetings.

In addition there are a number of Special Interest Groups who make and control contest rules, select International teams, and organise rallies and competitions for their various categories of model flying.
